Eastern Neck Horseshoe Crab Lecture and Walk

May 27, 2010

The event was hosted by the Center for Environment & Society at Washington College and the Friends of Eastern Neck, Inc., who are partnering on projects at Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge.

The Center for Environment & Society hosted a public horseshoe crab ecology event at Eastern Neck Island with a presentation by Martha Shaum of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. Chestertown locals explored native wildlife and met a diamondback terrapin and a box turtle.

On June 3, 2010, students from the Kent School made a trip to Eastern Neck Island for another horseshoe crab lecture and walk along the beach. View photos from Day 2 of the adventure.
